New York and Two Texas Ladies

One of my biggest wishes these last several years was to have a fun girl get-a-way with my dear friend, Melissa. However, between the two of us being pregnant, nursing and caring for our little muffins that wish got put on the back burner. My hope was maybe in 2011 after Miss Elyana was weaned we could go somewhere, anywhere!! Much to my surprise Melissa and John had something cooking this August and for my 36th birthday Melissa gave me a trip to New York City!! Seriously I was in shock! So on September 4th we packed our bags and left our little children in the hands of our very strong and capable men. After getting turned around in the DFW airport right away (we hadn’t traveled without our men in forever) and then a rather wild taxi ride, we made it safely to her cousin’s apartment. Duke has an amazing apartment that overlooks Central Park and he graciously let us invade his space for 4 amazing days!

This is the view from his apartment...Central Park on one side and Columbus circle on the other. Gorgeous!

Our first night in NY..we rode the subway and ate dinner at a great Italian restaurant with Duke.

Our first shopping excursion before the blister began! I had to buy a pair of $12 socks to get me through the day.

Our first Broadway show that Duke so kindly treated us to.

Had some much needed Jesus time here at this church. SO neat to see Him working it in NYC!

Checking in with the men while in Central Park.

The three hour tour.....in a taxi, looking at some real estate for my man! THREE hours! Our taxi driver was so nice ( we prayed hard for the right one) and we got to share Jesus with him.

Thanks Melissa for my birthday present! Although New York was fabulous and full of fun memories, my time with you was what I really treasured. So thankful for the gift of your friendship!
